About our Author & Course Tutor - Kirsty Craigie
Kirsty is a qualified veterinary nurse (although currently not registered on the RCVS veterinary nursing list). She has been working within the veterinary industry for over 10 years, first starting as a student, passing her veterinary nursing examinations, working at various practices, helping to develop a veterinary practice from scratch and becoming a head veterinary nurse of a small animal practice.
Kirsty has always had a passion for horses from an early age, she has owned, worked with and bred horses for nearly 30 years and agrees she has picked up a good knowledge along the way. She currently owns a Shire horse called Charlie, an old retired mare Poppy, a Shetland called Mickey and her latest filly foal born in 2016, Tilly.
Kirsty set up the company Pioneer Equestrian Supplies 5 years ago, which supplies equestrian & country wear as well as everything for the horse & pony. Following on from the main company, Kirsty thought it was about time to share her knowledge with others. She has always been keen on teaching students and was always on hand to teach veterinary students within practice.
Kirsty has now designed and written a whole series of courses for students who would like to know the equestrian basic's and then a little more. She has also written some courses on veterinary matters from general care through to more complex diseases.
